On August 1st 1982, a 28 year old Art Scaltrito, after having very good skilled jobs that paid well but due to the conditions of the automobile industry in the 1970's...layoff...layoff...layoff. Decided to go in business for himself. An auto detail/body shop in Norristown, Pa.Coinciding with the business friendly REAGAN REVOLUTION, and Art "going that extra mile" for his customers, Art's Auto Detail became an instant hit. 1 year later, Art was able to take the keys to his 2nd business, an auto dealership in Bridgeport, Pa. (Art's Auto Sales Inc.). Commercials on TV with some Major League baseball players, driving Corvettes, Mercedes Benzes, Jaguars, Porsches...trips to other countries. Life was good. In 1991, a recession hit again and a married with children Art was forced to go part time in his business and secured a position at UPS, in the automotive department. Holding down both positions.
FAST FORWARD TO 2010.
Although Art has been around boats since 1964, (his father bought the family a wooden IDEAL CRAFT) boat, it never dawned on him he could make a decent living making other boat owners like himself happy employing those same work ethic and skills he acquired in the auto industry and in business. Moving to a new location in Norristown, Art found himself competing with illegal immigrants. THE A.R.S. GROUP is a completely legitimate business, paying all licensing fees, insurance and taxes that the illegals do not. By mere chance, Art took his boat engine to BOATWORKS by ROMAN for some maintenance work. He asked Roman is there a market detailing and fiberglass repair and painting boats. Knowing Art since 1976, Roman started sending Art boats to detail and perform fiberglass repairs and painting those repairs.
Art soon left the auto industry behind. His UPS experience of 25 years repairing tractor trailers, opened another door of opportunity for Art. The boat trailer (although the 3rd most important part of a boat owner, after boat and engine) the boat trailer being the most neglected. STARTING JAN 1st 2017 Art will retire from UPS to devote 100% of his free time to A.R.S. Auto/Marine. In the off season ARS Auto/Marine will be restoring military artifacts for The Naval Air Station Museum @ Cape May Airport. During a 2014 vacation, Art and Flora M. Taylor refurbished a 1941 Ford Navy Staff Car for the Museum, as a "rainy day event". Upon completion, The Museum hired Art on the spot. Now, ARS Auto/Marine is here for the boat owner in the Tri State Phila area to serve YOU!
YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR MISSION (Novus Ordo Seclorum)
